Carefully Handmade, Small-batch Soap

Who We Are

 Star Soap’s mission:
Simple ingredients and luxurious soap that will leave your skin silky smooth and supple.

Star Soap launched in March of 2025, almost 25 years after Emilia first began making soap.

Star Soap began as a hobby by its founder, Emilia.  Emilia, living in Las Vegas was looking for products that did not leave her skin feeling like the desert she loved living in, and so Emilia began making soap.  Soap making started as a hobby for Emilia — making soap for herself and her family – soap that didn’t leave dry desert skin dry – but smooth and healthy.  This hobby and passion for simple ingredient soap grew into Star Soap.

Star Soap is Simple Obsessive Amazing Pure

Our Unique Process

Handmade and hot-processed for a creamy moisturizing result

Star Soap is 100% hot process soap; meaning the oils, water, and sodium hydroxide is cooked over low heat until it saponifies … (saponification is the state at which oils/fat and lye and water chemically react together when mixed and form glycerin and soap) reaches a ph-neutral condition safe for immediate use.  At Star Soap we believe this process creates a creamier more luxurious soap as its used.

Our 8 basic ingredients are:  Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Palm Kernal Oil, Castor Oil, Shea Butter, Water, and Sodium Hydroxide.

A few other minimally included ingredients:  Rose Clay, various fragrance oils mixed by Emilia, and micas for streaks of color.

Star Soap .. no two bars identical … just like the stars in the sky!

  • No, at this time we do not. We may in the future.

  • The lifespan of a soap bar depends on how often it’s used and how it’s stored. On average, a bar will last between 4 to 6 weeks with proper care. To maximize the longevity, make sure to store it in a dry area between uses. We store our bars of soap on a rack, or dish lifting hte bar out of the water in the shower, or on the side of the sink. A small sponge works great, or a wooden dish that elevates the soap off of the counter. We will be selling Made-in-the-USA soap holders by Christmas 2025.

  • Our soap is handcrafted and handmade by the founder of Star Soap individually, in small batches, with care and attention to detail, unlike mass-produced commercial soaps. We use high-quality ingredients and focus on creating simple products that work and nourish and benefit your skin without harsh additives. Plus, we offer unique scents and formulations you won’t find elsewhere.

  • Yes. All soap contains lye as it is made - it’s what makes soap, soap! However, the final product - the bar of soap itself, does NOT contain lye. Lye, also known as sodium hydroxide (NaOH), is a key ingredient in the soap-making process. The lye is a part of a chemical reaction that occurs when soap is made and that is called saponification, where fats or oils (like olive oil, coconut oil, castor oil, shea butter, etc.) are combined with lye to create soap and glycerin. During this reaction, the lye breaks down the oils or fats, and the resulting compounds form soap. Most of the lye gets consumed in the process, leaving behind a mild, save product when the soap is properly made and cured. That’s why, when you use soap, there’s no lye left in it - just soap and glycerin, which are gentile on the skin.

Our soap is “cooked” in a crockpot, and that cooking process forces the chemical reaction of saponification, and each batch is tested to be pH neutral before the bars of soap are formed. There is no lye remaining in the bars of soap that Star Soap sells.
